All those persons who are trying to educate the community on the basis of
Gurmat principle 'Vidya Vichari Ta Parupkari'.
Since the opening of various educational institutions in the private sector in India, education has
become a lucrative business for many persons. However, there are people whose main object is to educate
the community to such an extent that their literacy becomes hundred percent. Th e progress of a community
or country is refl ected in the literacy ratio of its persons. Th e Jews are the best example as how they raised
the status of their community by educating all their persons. Th us, for them, education is not merely a
business, but a sewa (education services for the community). All such persons should see to it that education
is provided to everyone at low cost and to the poor students without any burden upon them. It should
also be taken care of that all the students, apart from their fi eld of education, are also equipped with value
based education so that when they enter some business, profession or service, they must remember that
they have to engage themselves in 'Parupkar' (well being of all) also. Only such persons, who consider it an
opportunity to serve the people rather than exploiting them, can become role-models. Some of them fi gure
in our this role-models category.
